    Qiting is positioned on the center of the Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou equilateral triangle. It is becoming a vital communication place in east China following the completion of Xinyi-Changxi Railway, Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway, Wuxi-Yixing Expressway, Wuhu-Shanghai Canal.

    Airport: 55km to Changzhou Airpot, 65km to Wuxi Airpot, 120km to Nanjing Lukou International Airpot, 180km to Shanghai Hongqiao Airpot, 200km to Pudong International Airpot, 160km to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airpot.

    Railway: 2km southwest to the Qiting Chemical Industrial Park is the passenger and cargo stations of the national trunk Xinyi-Changxi Railway which is an important part of the Harbin-Guangzhou Railway. Also the Nanjing-Hangzhou rapid railway has been schemed.

    Highway: Qiting is easily accessible from Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and other large cities by a network of expressway, with Wuxi-Yixing Expressway connects to Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway, the entrance is within 1km from the government buildings of the town. There is also first class highway network with direct access to Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and other large cities aside from the expressway.

    Seaport: 200km to Shanghai Wusong port which is equipped with 100,000 tonner dock, 80km to Zhangjiagang port equipped with 50,000 tonner dock, 100km to Jiangyin port equipped with 50,000 tonner dock.

    Inland shipping: Wuxi-Liyang-Caoqiao Canal, the five grade channel from Yixing to Changzhou then the Yangtze flows through Qiting, on the south side is the four grade national channel – Wuhu-Shanghai Canal which runs from Wuhu in Anhui province to Shanghai, large ships could access Shanghai, Changzhou, Zhangjiagang directly, and run through Taihu Lake, Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, and the Yangtze River to form a waterway network that connects river, lake and sea.
